**Drayage drivers are essential to the national supply chain, yet they are being pushed out of business at unprecedented rates. Despite claims that port congestion has been resolved, drivers continue to face daily 3–6+ hour delays without compensation. Rates have dropped below sustainable levels, and more than 1,000 East Coast drivers have gone out of business since January 2026.
